Description du contenu de l'enseignement :

This interactive course will introduce you to the legal frameworks governing human rights in Europe both within the Council of Europe and the European Union. It will focus on understanding and analysing key human rights and will introduce you to some of the pressing human rights challenges facing the European courts, like climate change and the human rights obligations of business. Finally, it will also encourage students to think critically about human rights and the European human rights system.

Familiarise yourself with current human rights challenges within the European Legal Order.

  • Understanding of the legal frameworks for the protection of human rights in Europe
  • Understanding of key fundamental rights.
  • Ability to analysis of pressing human rights issues and how they are being handled by the European courts.
  • Ability to critically evaluate human rights and the limits of European human rights system.

- Coursework, 2,000 words: 30%

 

Final assessment: 50%

 

- Final written exam, 3 questions out of 6, 1,500 words each: 50%
