Dauphine celebrates 50 years in management research
Université Paris Dauphine-PSL celebrates 50 years of research in management science! This anniversary is an opportunity to look back at Dauphine's groundbreaking role in the structuring and consolidation of a young scientific discipline, focused on understanding and transforming organizations.
This vital research into current transitions is thriving at the university's Dauphine Research in Management (DRM) laboratory.
Research in societal issues
For fifty years, research at DRM has evolved in close connection with major economic, technological and societal shifts. From management control, finance, marketing and strategy, to information systems and corporate social responsibility, the laboratory helped to update the analysis frameworks and move practices forward, combining scientific rigor and impact with public and private organizations.
According to Gwenaëlle Nogatchewsky, Director of Dauphine Research in Management: “DRM has built research in management science in France by training 1,013 doctors in 50 years, facilitating debates, and by acting as an intellectual compass for our scientific field. My wish today is for our young colleagues to embrace DRM, adopt it and transform it in order to face the challenges of the present and the future.”
Research committed to excellence
This anniversary marks an ongoing commitment to producing rigorous research, recognized in the leading international academic journals, while nurturing public debate and managerial innovation. Through its international engagement, its academic and institutional partnerships and the excellence of its PhD students and research professors, DRM plays an active role in promoting management science in France and beyond.
For the university, this anniversary illustrates the reliability of a model based on scientific excellence, interdisciplinarity and dialogue with companies and institutions. This marks a decisive step for the academic community, with a discipline that's now fully recognized, capable of shining a light on the major contemporary digital, ecological and social transitions, and of training the researchers and decision-makers of the future.
According to Bruno Bouchard, President of Université Paris Dauphine–PSL: “DRM is a major research center on a national scale for its scientific disciplines. It fully embodies the Dauphine ambitions of excellence and engagement in the world of research. Its work is essential in order to continue to support organizations as they face societal transformation.”
