Dauphine celebrates its students' athletic achievements

Dauphine paid tribute to more than 150 students in a one-of-a-kind ceremony on Tuesday May 12.

Université Paris Dauphine – PSL celebrated athletic prowess on May 12, with the first edition of the Dauphine Athletic Medal Ceremony.

Officiated by Bruno Bouchard, President of the university, and François Perrot, Director of SUAPS, this inaugural edition was sponsored by outstanding alumnus: Cyril Benzaquen. A graduate of the class of 2015, the international champion was in attendance to inspire the new generations just days after securing his eighth kickboxing world championship title, on April 30.

The event promises to become annual, and brought the Dauphine community together to celebrate more than 150 students for their stellar achievements during the 2024-2025 academic year.

A high-level athletic culture

With 40% of its students enrolled in a sporting discipline on campus, Dauphine can claim to be one of the sportiest universities in France. Athletes from Dauphine, who represent the university in the Fédération Française du Sport Universitaire (FFSU), pulled off a remarkable season:

  • 37 gold medals
  • 27 silver medals
  • 7 bronze medals
  • Many students qualified for French and European championships.

The Talents program, combining athletics with academics

Samuelle Nere and Ariel Pariente, students in Dauphine Talents, were emcees for the evening, putting a spotlight on the tangible success of this unique program.

This special program of studies is structured to allow high-level athletes, as well as artists and entrepreneurs, to complete their first two years of the Bachelor's degree in six semesters instead of four. The course program remains the same, maintaining essential balance between academic requirements and the rigors of intensive training.
