Biography

I have been a Professor of Economics at the University Paris Dauphine - PSL since September 2014. After completing a PhD at Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University, defended in 2003, I obtained a position as an Assistant Professor at the University of Cergy-Pontoise. I obtained the Professorship position in 2010 at the University of Lille I, where I stayed from 2010 to 2014 before joining the University Paris Dauphine-PSL in 2014.

My research focuses on international macroeconomics. Using the framework of Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium (DSGE) models, I am interested in the role of market imperfections in the dynamics of exchange rates and the international transmission of shocks, particularly highlighting the role of various market imperfections, whether financial or related to labor market matching. More recently, I have focused on the importance of collateral constraints as a determinant of corporate investment, measuring its heterogeneity both within and between European countries using firm-level data.

My research also lies within the field of international trade. I have studied the role of labor market institutions in companies' decisions to locate internationally. In my more recent work, I focus on the form, scale, and evolution of international transport costs over recent decades.

My research reflects a strong interest in the analysis of economic policies. After examining monetary policy, my current work investigates the role of fiscal policy (labor taxation, indirect taxes, employment subsidies, and import tax protectionism) and structural reforms (deregulation of goods markets, labor markets) in national economic performance in a globalized environment. While most of my research focuses on industrialized countries, I am also working on a project examining the nature of growth in China, exploring the role of structural change and technological progress in the convergence between Chinese provinces.
