The Research Labs
Laboratory for Analysis and Modeling of Decision Support Systems – LAMSADE
LAMSADE (UMR CNRS 7243) is one of the few research centers in France or Europe to be developing a specific vision of computer science – as it relates to decision science and technologies. The research fields studied there center around several topics related to artificial intelligence:
- Machine learning
- Big data management
- Algorithmics
- Optimization and operations research
- Collective decision-making, game theory, and computational social choice
- Decision-making tools in health care
Center for Research in Decision Mathematics – CEREMADE
CEREMADE (UMR CNRS 7534) is world-renowned for its work in non-linear analysis, finance and economics, and probability and statistics. Some of the CEREMADE team's areas of study contribute to research on digital technology at Dauphine-PSL:
- High-dimensional probabilities and statistics
- Optimization and optimal control
- Game theory
Dauphine Economics Laboratory – LEDa
LEDa (UMR CNRS IRD 8007 – 260) unites all the Dauphine-PSL economics teams around theoretical and applied projects and shared international tools and networks.
The research conducted there, geared toward decision support, touches on a wide range of societal issues: data in health care and aging; development and mobility; macroeconomic policy; the environment and climate; and finance
It is sustained by theoretical reflections focusing on basic microeconomic principles, the economics of wellbeing, the structure of markets and interactions, and risk management. The health economics team at LEDa is leading the SHARE survey on healthcare data for France.
Game theory plays a pivotal role in the analysis of optimal behaviors exhibited by digital actors, in areas as varied as responding to attacks, defining and understanding bidding strategies, etc.
Interdisciplinary Research Institute in Social Science – IRISSO
IRISSO (UMR CNRS INRA 7170 – 1427) brings together sociologists, political scientists, and economists.
The primary research focus at IRISSO is on public and private regulations and their interconnections and transformations. IRISSO research studies are centered on economic sociology and public action analysis.
Over the last few years, IRISSO has developed a specialized research program on new platform workers, and more broadly, the digital transformations of work.
Dauphine Management Research – DRM
DRM (UMR CNRS 7088) is one of the most important research centers in management science in France, covering the full range of fields: marketing, strategy, finance, organizational theory, human resource management, information systems, innovation, as well as accounting and control.
These disciplines are naturally invested in the effects of digital transformations on organizations and markets, including new forms of management, evolving business models, and new market relationships.
A few research topics at the intersection of management and digitalization:
- Alternative forms of work, entrepreneurship, and management
- Data-driven business models
- Platforms, ecosystems, and regulation
- Fintech
- Robotics in business
Dauphine Center for Legal Research – CR2D
CR2D (EA 367) brings together legal experts, attorneys in public or private law, economists, political scientists, and sociologists to carry out cross-disciplinary legal research programs.
The research focus "new tools for foresight" constitutes an openness to novel topics for CR2D, which notably include predictive justice and the impact of open data for legal decisions on French law.
