New Double Bachelor's Degree in AI and Organizational Science
Université Paris Dauphine – PSL launches its double Bachelor's Degree “Artificial Intelligence and Organizational Sciences”.
This original new course, unique in France, came from an observation: artificial intelligence and the collection and processing of mass data are transforming all business sectors. It meets the need to train decision-makers who understand what is at stake, and have mastered the tools of the digital revolution, while being able to anticipate economic, organizational and social impacts.
The “Artificial Intelligence and Organizational Sciences” double Bachelor's Degree will welcome its first class of students in the fall of 2022. This demanding multidisciplinary program will combine economics, management, mathematics, data science, computer science, social sciences and English.
After three years, this new Bachelor's degree grants a double degree : a Bachelor's degree in applied economics and a Bachelor's degree in organizational computer science, offering access to various Master's degree programs at Université Paris Dauphine – PSL that use these dual skills.
Aside from the hands-on training for manipulating data and algorithms, the program includes reflexive teaching of the uses and stakes of artificial intelligence, particularly on the ethical issues raised by data massification and algorithmic decisions.
The program is based on fundamental courses from the Bachelor's degree in Mathematics-Computer Science and the Bachelor's degree in Organizational Sciences, and also includes new courses such as:
- Manipulation of data and algorithms;
- Understanding the origin and significance of data;
- Assessment of the implications of data and their regulatory and societal impacts;
- Development of solid data science and artificial intelligence skills along with knowledge of their use and impact in society;
- Acquisition of core knowledge in mathematics, computer science, statistics, economics, management and accounting;
- Awareness of contemporary issues, in terms of digital transformation and climate change.
According to Professor E.M. Mouhoud, President of Université Paris Dauphine – PSL:
“The introduction of this double Bachelor's Degree is an important event for our university. It reflects our ability to innovate in terms of course offerings to reflect changes in society and meet our students’ expectations. The progress of artificial intelligence within the context of the digital revolution demands increasingly diverse skills, which is why offering hybrid programs, bringing together once-separate disciplines, has become crucial..
Starting in fall 2022, as they enter the double Bachelor's Degree program, our students will choose demanding multidisciplinary programs, while benefitting from small group teaching at Université Paris Dauphine – PSL which will give them a top-notch dual specialization.”
