Academic Training Year 2023 - 2024 - subject to modification

Teaching Modalities

The program starts in September and attendance is required.
The first year of the Master’s in Computer Science with a specialization in Business Informatics is divided into two semesters, S1 and S2. Each semester is made up of a foundational unit of instruction, a communication unit, and supplementary units, as well as an internship unit in S2. Each course is worth a certain number of ECTS credits; each semester corresponds to a specific number of ECTS credits obtained by passing the courses for the semester.
Every course for which a student receives a final grade of 10/20 or above is deemed passed, and the appropriate ECTS credits are granted.

The foundational unit consists of a number of courses. Students are given a final grade for each foundational unit. Every unit for which a student receives a final grade of 10/20 or above is deemed passed, and the appropriate ECTS credits are granted.
The communication unit consists of a number of courses. Students are given a final grade for this unit. Every unit for which a student receives a final grade of 10/20 or above is deemed passed, and the appropriate ECTS credits (the sum of the ECTS credits for the courses that make up the unit) are granted.
Each semester is made up of a foundational unit of instruction, a communication unit, and supplementary units, as well as an internship unit in S2.
A student will have passed a semester if all the following conditions are met:

  • They take at least 30 ECTS and receive a final grade of at least 10/20
  • They receive final grade for the foundational unit of at least 10/20, as long as the final grade for each component course is at least 5/20.
  • They receive a final grade of at least 10/20 for that semester’s communication unit.
  • The final grade for the internship in semester 2 is at least 10/20

To pass a year, the student must have passed both semesters and all their courses and to have received the associated ECTS credits.

A st udent will have passed the first year of the Master’s in Computer Science if all the following conditions are met:

  • They have taken at least 60 ECTS credits and receive a final grade for the year of at least 10/20
  • They receive a final grade of at least 10/20 for the two foundational units
  • The final grade for each course in each foundational unit taken that year is at least 5/20
  • They receive a final grade of at least 10/20 for the two communication units
  • The final grade for the internship is at least 10/20

Academic Training Year 2023 - 2024 - subject to modification

Teaching Modalities

The first year of the Master's degree in Computer Science is organized in semesters 1 and 2. The semesters are made up of teaching units (UE), one of which is the thesis in semester 2. Each UE is associated with a certain number of European credits (ECTS)

Final grade and postponement of a UE The final grade of the first session of a UE is obtained by weighting the grades of continuous assessment, projects, partial and final exams. The continuous assessment grade may include several elements: projects, homework, written or oral exams and participation grade. In the case of a make-up session, the final grade of a UE is obtained through a final exam. It replaces the final grade of the first session of the UE. Any UE for which the student has obtained a final mark strictly inferior to 5/20 is postponed, with the exception of the thesis. The dissertation is postponed if the final mark is strictly less than 10/20.

The final grade out of twenty points for a year is calculated by a weighted average of the final grades of all the UEs making up the year, the weight of the final grade of a UE being determined by the ECTS associated with the UE; added to the possible bonus granted by the REE.

A semester is fully acquired if all the following conditions are met:

  • It consists of at least 30 ECTS and the final grade is greater than or equal to 10/20
  • The final grade of each optional UE of semester 2 is superior or equal to 5/20
  • The final grade for the semester is greater than or equal to 5/20 for each UE
  • The final mark of the enterprise block for the validation of semester 2 is greater than or equal to 10/20

The final grade out of twenty points for a year is calculated by a weighted average of the final grades of all the UEs making up the year, the weight of the final grade of a UE being determined by the ECTS associated with the UE; added to the possible bonus granted by the REE.

Internships and Supervised Projects

The internship either takes place in a company or at a research center and can be replaced by a thesis supervised by a faculty member at the university over a period of three to four months.
The internship should involve a substantial amount of design, analysis, and production. Students must have their internships approved by the program director in advance.
At the end of their internship, the student must submit a report in triplicate. The report must be submitted at least 8 days before the date scheduled defenses begin.
