Program Objectives

The Decision Support and Public Policy Evaluation program trains students in the design and analysis tools required to plan, program, implement, support, and evaluate relevant public projects/programs and policies. The program prepares students for a career as an economist and/or statistician in a public or private organization (national or international), a consultant, a project manager, or in teaching and academic research.
This is one of the programs taught at the Franco-Senagalese campus. Its students earn two Master's degrees, one from Université Paris Dauphine - PSL and the other from the National School of Statistics and Economical Analysis in Dakar.

Program objectives:

  • Be aware of looming economic and social challenges on the African continent
  • Understand the stakes relating to development and interventions by public authorities in the development process; have deep knowledge of strategic and operational planning tools
  • Process and analyze data, understand the indicators used in the formulation, monitoring, and evaluation of projects; be able to identify and formulate such indicators
  • Become expert in macroeconomic concepts and the relationship between the various economic aggregates
  • Become expert in the methods and tools necessary to evaluate public projects/programs and policies and in advanced qualitative evaluation techniques
  • Develop expertise in project appraisal, design, monitoring, and assessment; know how to successfully negotiate public projects (including PPP)
