Decision Support and Public Policy Evaluation - Master's Year 2

Program Objectives

The Decision Support and Public Policy Evaluation program trains students in the design and analysis tools required to plan, program, implement, support, and evaluate relevant public projects/programs and policies. The program prepares students for a career as an economist and/or statistician in a public or private organization (national or international), a consultant, a project manager, or in teaching and academic research.
This is one of the programs taught at the Franco-Senagalese campus. Its students earn two Master's degrees, one from Université Paris Dauphine - PSL and the other from the National School of Statistics and Economical Analysis in Dakar.

Program objectives:

  • Understand the future economic and social challenges facing the African continent
  • Understand development issues, the role of public intervention in the development process, and master tools for strategic and operational planning
  • Process and analyze databases, and produce indicators for project monitoring and evaluation
  • Master macroeconomic concepts and the interrelations between different economic aggregates
  • Master the methods and tools needed for the evaluation of projects, programs, and public policies, including advanced qualitative evaluation techniques
  • Develop expertise in project appraisal, design, monitoring, and assessment; know how to successfully negotiate public projects (including PPP)
