Academic Training Year 2024 - 2025 - subject to modification

Teaching Modalities

The 2nd year of the Master of Notarial Law represents 370 hours of classroom teaching, spread over the period September to April. The course includes a combination of fundamental teaching and technical training in economics and management, designed to prepare future student notaries for their role as company directors. In addition, there are hours dedicated to assessment.

This Master's degree can be taken either as an initial training, with a final 3-month internship in a notary's office starting in May, or as a 12-month work-based training under an apprenticeship contract.

The teaching team reflects the vital cooperation between academics and practitioners - notaries, lawyers, magistrates and wealth management professionals. This cooperation extends to the conferences, study days and symposia regularly organized by the course, which help to instill in students a sense of belonging to their future profession.

The 2nd year Master's students are very keen to maintain the strong sense of community that is traditional at Université Paris Dauphine-PSL, and have set up a particularly dynamic association: the ADN Dauphine Association. In addition, both individually and collectively, students in the program are keen to take part in competitions open to Master 2 level students (Solon competition for legal drafting, Septeo competition for drafting deeds, MEJI prize for best real estate law student, etc.).

Internships and Supervised Projects

After a first compulsory internship of at least 2 months in the 1st year of the Master of Notarial Law, the student must complete, in the 2nd year of the Master's initial training, a compulsory internship of at least 3 months in a notarial study. The decree of July 5, 2023 requires an internship of at least four weeks in a notarial office during the preparation of the Master of Notarial Law.

Strengthening the internship requirement in this way tends to give students of the Master of Notarial Law, especially in the 2nd year, significant experience, likely to lead to a 2-year internship, required for the continuation of notarial training with a view to obtaining of the Diploma of Higher Studies in Notaries (DESN). The 2nd year Master's internship in initial training (like that of the 1st year) can be carried out abroad in a notary office or equivalent.
