The pandemic: a lever for more gender diversity in the digital sector (COViQUiTY)
In Europe, women represent less than 15% of the workforce in higher education in computer science. The digital transition is currently the result of a very homogeneous population, which is a situation that we can no longer be satisfied.
For a long time, teachers have been identified as major actors of change in this field, but the relationship of teachers to digital technology is, on the one hand, a long history of conflict and, on the other hand, gender sensitive.
COViQUiTY is a Franco-Swiss project that wants to answer two questions:
- Has the pandemic changed teachers' relationship with digital technology, in particular in terms of gender?
- How to create educational content based on the needs and feelings of primary school teachers who have experienced pedagogical continuity and who wish to engage in gender issues in digital?

Isabelle Collet
Associate Professor, Director of G-RIRE-University of Geneva
Isabelle Collet, born March 17, 1969 in Charleville-Mézières, is a French computer scientist, lecturer at the University of Geneva and novelist. She is interested in gender issues and discrimination against women in computing and science.
Denise Sutter Widmer
PhD in Education, University of Geneva
Holder of the MALTT master's degree from TECFA and a thesis on the design and evaluation of a serious mathematics game in Education Sciences, she is currently involved, as a lecturer, in training primary and secondary I teachers in the pedagogical uses of digital technology, at the University of Geneva and the HEP-Vaud. Prior to this, she worked for several years in various sectors (public administration, associations and teaching), after obtaining a degree in social and economic history from the University of Geneva and a master's degree from IDHEAP (Lausanne).
Gaëlle Molinari
Assistant Professor of Educational Psychology and Educational Technology, University of Geneva
Since 2018, Gaëlle Molinari has been an assistant professor in educational psychology and educational technologies at TECFA (Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, FPSE) at the University of Geneva and UniDistance. At the University of Geneva, she is also co-director of the MALTT (Master of Science in Learning and Teaching Technologies), President of the College of Doctorates in Psychology, and President of the Participatory Council of the FPSE.
Ania Tadlaoui-Brahmi
PhD student at G-RIRE, University of Geneva
Ania Tadlaoui-Brahmi is a doctoral student (doc.ch) at the University of Geneva and co-director of the Haute École Pédagogique de Fribourg. Her thesis aims to document, through mixed-methods research, the teaching practices and relationship to digital citizenship knowledge of primary school pupils.
