Academic Training Year 2025 - 2026 - subject to modification

Teaching Modalities

Students have classes throughout the year, including during February and spring break, on Thursdays and Fridays, as well as an intensive five-week session at the beginning of September. Coursework, including exams, concludes at the end of May.
Students in apprenticeship programs join their host company on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays starting in the second week of October, except during exam weeks in both semesters.

Students in initial training follow the same schedule as apprentices, attending the same classes on Thursdays and Fridays. However, instead of the research seminar, they participate in the Clinique Juridique, which focuses on environmental protection issues in partnership with various associations. In the second semester, they complete a minimum four-month internship on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. In the first semester, when they are not in class, they work on individual projects, such as: Engaging in association work; Learning or strengthening a foreign language; Completing internships Taking university minors; Earning certifications through MOOCs; etc.
Students choose between two academic paths: Public Business Law or General Public Law. In the second semester, their choice determines three specialized courses, in addition to the common courses shared by both tracks.

The program incorporates innovative learning tools, including workshops, research publications, and the option to study abroad during a gap year (for initial training students). A study trip is scheduled for March.

Internships and Supervised Projects

Apprenticeships take place in a variety of public action-related organizations, including: Central administration (ministries, independent administrative authorities, agencies, national public institutions); Decentralized administration (prefectures, police prefectures); Local administration (local authorities or public intercommunal cooperation establishments); Law firms and public affairs firms; Public or private companies.

The assigned tasks may focus on various aspects of public law (e.g., public procurement, complex contracts, public litigation, data protection, legislative drafting, public finance, and accounting). They may also involve public policy development and evaluation or address public affairs-related issues. The apprenticeship contract lasts two years, and the academic tutor conducts two on-site visits per year.

Internships are exclusively for students in initial training and take place in the same types of institutions as apprenticeships, with the additional option of working in a parliamentary setting (e.g., parliamentary collaboration, particularly for those interested in the M2 in Advocacy and Public Affairs Law). Second semester internships last a minimum of four months, starting in early January. In the first semester, students can choose to do a first internship, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, starting in the second week of October, different from that of the second semester or starting their second-semester internship (though this period does not count toward the four-month requirement).
