Program Objectives
The first year of the Master’s degree in Public Law serves as the common foundation for the three Master’s 2 programs it leads to: Master 235 (Public Law and Management), Master 291 (Law and Market Regulation), and Master 299 (Advocacy and Public Affairs Law). The curriculum includes both legal and non-legal courses, providing students with a deep understanding of the tools and realities of public action.
The program has a strong professional focus. Students follow one of two paths: Apprenticeship track: Starting in the second week of October, students alternate between work and study, attending classes on Thursdays and Fridays while working on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Internship track: Beginning in January, students complete work placements on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
From the second semester, students choose between two majors: Public Business Law General Public Law. Both majors provide access to all three Master’s 2 programs, allowing students to align their choice with their career goals.
Additionally, this first year prepares students for the Grand Oral CRFPA, an essential step for those pursuing the bar exam.
Training objectives:
- Understand the legal, political, economic, and social issues of public action
- Master the tools for analyzing public action at the local, national, and European levels
- Develop skills in future-oriented challenges: environment, digital technology, artificial intelligence
- Acquire practical skills and interpersonal qualities that can be applied in the future professional experiences of graduates

The challenges of the ecological and social transition in the Master's degree programs
Several courses and tools are offered to students in the Master’s program, regardless of their specialization
- “Ecological Transition and Social Responsibility” Certificate
- “Dauphine Durable” SPOC A common base of knowledge in the areas of ethics, social responsibility and sustainable development. It tackles the basics of CSR: control, human resources, finance, marketing, strategy, climate issues and the environmental transition.
- “Managing SDGs” SPOC A unique learning experience in which students from multiple countries work together on real-life case studies.
- Virtual University of the Environment and Sustainable Development At PSL, Dauphine is a founding member of Université Virtuelle Environnement et Développement durable (Virtual University of the Environment and Sustainable Development), which allows it to provide its students with a set of resources and MOOCs.
