AMJF Association
Introduction
The Master's degree 259 - Law and Finance association (AMJF) was created in 2010. It brings together students from the current cohort and those from previous cohorts. AMJF is managed by students and by a board whose members are elected by current students. The association contributed to the building and launch of the current website. The goal of the site is both to provide information to potential program students and to recruiters and to be a networking space for program alumni. The site features an alumni directory and forums (accessible via the “alumni” link).
AMJF’s mission is to:
- Supplement the curriculum the Master’s program with year-round events (link to projects);
- Publicize the Master’s program, which is valuable not only because of the educational, legal, and financial education it provides, but also because of its apprenticeship training model;
- Develop a sense of belonging, solidarity, and support among each cohort;
- Forge connections between the various cohorts through the maintenance of an alumni network
Projects
AMJF is key to the program’s vitality, charging itself with academic and social events alike.
259 consists of 25 students who commit themselves to class and to work -- but who also want to make the most of their PSL year! Financial lawyers can expect an eventful calendar!
The Annual Conference
The association, with the support of Madame Bienvenu-Perrot, co-organizes an annual conference on a contemporary topic of financial law. Industry professionals and academics attend.
Happy Hours
The entire class comes together on Thursday evenings to debrief on the week’s work, discuss classes, and dream up future projects in a convivial atmosphere. Not to be missed!
Inter-Cohort Dinners
AMJF organizes dinners between the various program cohorts to facilitate network building and give young professionals and students a space to share their experiences.
Masters'Dinners
Masters’ Day will take place in February this year, as it does every year, in the main university quadrangle. AMJF will be there. Is it organized by MSO and MIDO, two academic departments, and is designed to showcase all the Master’s degrees offered by the university. AMJF will be representing 259, the Master’s program in Law and Finance, and will be available to answer all your questions.
