Social Sciences of the Economy - Master's Year 1

Program Objectives

This 1st-year Master's program aims to provide students with foundational knowledge related to primary concepts in the social science of economics (accumulation, capital, state, firm, organization, market, regulation, work, etc.). It is the product of a collaboration between the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), MINES ParisTech, and Dauphine-PSL.

Program objectives:

  • Prepare a new generation of scientists and experts who can reinvigorate analysis of the policies, institutions, organizations, and the players that make up contemporary economics.
  • Provide an introduction or a refresher in statistics, geometric data analysis, network analysis, programming (Python and R), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and the historical sources.
  • Allow students to courses in French and English across the economic and social sciences at all three institutions.
