Federated Diploma in Property Law (DFJP)
The Federated Diploma in Property Law (DFJP) is designed to recognize legal excellence in property law. It is a combination of nine specialized certificates, each of which is overseen by the certificate’s teaching director(s).
The idea is to bring together the best of each of the FNDP’s second-year Master’s programs into one 180-hour diploma.
This first-of-its-kind program is taught in a hybrid model, with some courses taught online and others in in-person seminars. It perfectly complements the content of the second-year Master’s courses.
Students can take it alongside their regular second-year Master’s courses, but it is also open to professionals who already have an M2 from FNDP.
The cost of the program and its examination are covered by the Professional Property Law program.
This year, students will sit the DFJP exam during the FNDP seminar (March 15-20, 2021)
ADEPP
The ADEPP was formed in 2001, in tandem with the Université Paris Dauphine – PSL’s Professional Property Law program. It has been growing ever since.
The Association tasked itself with increasing the visibility of the Master’s program and building a strong sense of community among its alumni.
ADEPP’s initiatives aim to:
- Promote the Professional Property Law program in academic and business circles;
- Foster the alumni community by organizing networking opportunities and updating the alumni directory;
- Offering top-quality seminars that enable its members to ensure that their professional knowledge is up-to-date.
Events
Both the program and ADEPP put on a number of key events throughout the year.
Career Forum
Held at the start of the year, the Career Forum brings together banking professionals, lawyers, notaries, and asset management advisors, many of whom are alumni of the second-year Master’s program. This event is an opportunity for ADEPP to host working professionals and students from the program in a convivial atmosphere.
Notariaal Heritage Days
Every year, in collaboration with the Superior Council of Notaries (CSN), the program hosts Notarial Heritage Days at Université Paris Dauphine – PSL.
January Conference in partnership with the FNDP
Every January, the FNDP and Université Paris Dauphine – PSL put on a conference about contemporary issues in case law and taxation.
April Conference organized by the ADEPP
Every year, the ADEPP, with the support of the program, puts on a conference dealing with issues pertaining to asset management, law, taxation, and finance.
The 2016 theme was “Asset Management for Wealthy Families and Family Offices.” In 2017, the theme was “Art: A Strategic Investment.”
DFJP Certification Week in Toulouse
Students can obtain an additional diploma, the Federated Diploma in Property Law (DFJP), under the aegis of our partnership with the FNDP (http://www.fndp.eu).
Students obtain this diploma by taking FNDP courses online and then passing a series of examinations over the course of a week in Toulouse.
Professional Property Law Program Conference
At the end of May, the Master’s program puts on a conference on legal and technical themes; conference presentations are later published. Last year, the theme was “Asset Management and Disabilities.”
The Gala
The gala, a key event in the Professional Heritage Law program, brings together students from the two most recent cohorts along with professionals, program faculty, alumni, and sponsors. The event rotates between the Club de la chasse et de la nature and the Automobile club de France, and is an opportunity both for recent graduates to receive their diplomas and for everyone to mingle in a convivial atmosphere.
A Selection of Past Events
- A conference on the law as it relates to the fight against fraud and serious economic and financial delinquency, co-organized by FNDP and ADEPP (Thursday June 5, 2014)
- A conference on the disappearance of the company leader, co-organized by FNDP and ADEPP (Thursday May 16, 2013)
Competitions
Grand Prix FNDP
The Federation, in collaboration with its sponsor Lexis Nexis, offers an annual Grand Prix.
- In May, student teams (each consisting of one student from each federated diploma program) have six hours to prepare the synthesis of a major case. They have access to digital references but may not communicate with anyone outside the team. When the time is up, each team’s work is graded by the jury.
- The oral test takes place in June: each team has 10 minutes to remark on the case they covered in the written test, then 10 minutes to answer questions from the jury. The judging and awards ceremony follow.
AGEFI Competition
For ten years now, BNP Paribas (via its subsidiaries BNP Paribas Banque Privée and BNP Paribas Cardif) has been a sponsoring partner of the “Grand Prix du Patrimoine Jeunes Diplômés,” a unique event in heritage management.
More than 1,000 students have entered this competition since it began in 1992, some of them going on to join the workforce of BNP Paribas.
The competition, which was launched by Agefi Actifs, the weekly magazine of wealth management professionals, is aimed at students from institutions of higher education that specialize in asset management.
It is still very popular among students. 19 teams participated in this year’s competition, for a total of 90 students from 18 institutions of higher education that offer a specialized advanced degree.
In a reflection of the current unprecedented professional situation, the oral part of the competition was held locally. This meant that in addition to each team co-authoring their response to the case, each student had to also “get to know” their client during a screening interview. The finalists then came to present their proposed solutions to a jury of professionals representing the client and a third party.
For many institutions, the “Grand Prix du Patrimoine Jeunes Diplômés” has become part of the curriculum for their advanced-degree students, and it is taken into account in the awarding of the diploma.

Publications
Since 2010, students in the Professional Heritage Law program have had the option of writing an article, under the guidance of a professor or professional, instead of a thesis. Those articles scoring higher than a 15 are sent to Éditions Lamy, who publish a selection of them chosen not only for their quality but also for their fit with the publisher’s needs. This publication is both a great educational and personal opportunity for our students, and an expression of confidence in and a recognition of the quality of our program.
