Applied Mathematics : Actuarial Science Major - Master's Year 1

Program Objectives

The "Actuarial Science" Major offers an introduction to the mathematics of insurance: life and ;non-life risk modeling; introduction to provisions; credibility theory; and ruin theory.

The natural progression opportunities available to students of the program include the 2nd Year of the Master's Degree in Actuarial Science (M2 Actuarial Science) or Mathematical Engineering (M2 ISF, standard or apprenticeship track)

Training objectives :

  • Acquire solid knowledge of Applied Mathematics (probability and statistics, optimization and digital analysis).
  • Learn about developments in Mathematics and tackle open questions and current issues.
  • Develop our students’ skills by consolidating their knowledge of the theoretical and practical foundations of analysis (functional analysis, numerical calculation, etc.)
  • Prepare students to study other disciplines (such as Finance and Actuarial Science).
