Program Objectives

Paris Dauphine-PSL University offers a three-year program in actuarial science. This program is one of eight initial training programs recognized by the Institute of Actuaries (IA) that lead to the title of “ Associate Actuary ” after the defense of an actuarial thesis before an IA jury.
The second year of the Master's in Mathematics and Applications, Actuarial Science track, is the final year of this actuarial program. It trains professionals who specialize in risk assessment, management, and modeling, and allows for rapid entry into the actuarial field in finance, insurance, and social protection, in France or internationally.
In line with the IA's Core Syllabus, the program is based on a foundation of high-level knowledge and skills in applied mathematics (statistics and probability) and incorporates a strong multidisciplinary approach to teaching data science, economics, finance, and computer science. It also includes courses on regulation, law, English, and professional practices. As the actuarial profession offers a variety of career paths in constantly evolving fields (audit and consulting, asset management, risk management, insurance, reinsurance, banking, etc.), this program provides numerous opportunities for interaction with recognized professionals and incorporates the technical developments necessary to adapt to the major challenges facing the profession (climate, artificial intelligence, demographics, etc.).

Training objectives :

  • Acquire in-depth mastery of the statistical, probabilistic, and numerical methods required for actuarial and financial modeling.
