Program Objectives of the Master’s Degree in Statistical and Financial Engineering
This program provides students with solid training to allow them to quickly enter a profession in the service industry, finance, insurance, or statistics. It trains students in financial instruments and reasoning, modeling and statistics, as well as in the French, European, and international regulatory contexts relative to banking, insurance, and management firms.
This program is intended to provide students with the following:
- Master quantitative methods, mathematical and statistical modeling, software tools, and the primary derivative valuation models
- Analyze problems and propose and fully implement solutions that take into account digital and data processing along with any regulatory and operational concerns
- Gain experience of techniques specific to the service industry (economic studies, marketing, production management, quality control, finance, insurance, etc.) and in emerging methods in statistics and big data
- Confront the kinds of issues confronting modern companies, particularly in the areas of risk assessment and measurement; gain experience in positions of responsibility
- Acquire a solid knowledge of financial mathematics and data analysis (big data)
- Acquire sufficient financial knowledge to obtain financial certification (i.e. CFA, FCA)
