Notarial Law - Master’s Year 1

Program Objectives

The 1st year in the Master’s degree in Notarial Law prepares students for post-graduate notary studies in view of obtaining the DESN (French post-graduate notary diploma). The Master’s degree in Notarial Law naturally leads to notarial positions (assistant, salaried, associate or even independent); candidates are also suited to professions requiring strong expertise in assets (real estate, banking, insurance and asset management).

Program Objectives:

  • Deepen the kinds of theoretical and practical knowledge that facilitate an understanding of the main traditional and emerging issues in notarial law
  • Be aware of evolutions in the international aspects of records
  • Gain the technical economics and management skills to exercise notarial law in a corporation in the future
  • Meet the specifications for the Master’s degree in Notarial Law, as appended to the order of July 5, 2023, on the DESN, allowing students with a Master’s degree to gain admission to post-graduate notary studies.
  • Offer an initiation to research and through research, to help prepare students for their research paper and internship report, both requirements for the notary course to obtain the DESN.
  • Develop strong ties with the professional world and the alumni network, through a class spirit that spearheads various community projects.
