Public Policy and Opinion - 244 - Master's Year 2

Program Objectives

The program in Public Policy and Opinion trains students for careers involving the design, analysis, and evaluation public policy and the creation of qualitative and quantitative opinion and politicization studies. It also prepares future political science researcher professors. The program, which combines courses in political science, sociology, and economics, is available as a research track or a professional track.

Program objectives:

  • Set up specifications for evaluation
  • Analyze public policy and its effects
  • Become expert in statistical tools and large-scale quantitative data processing tools
  • Create a large-scale statistical study
  • Write a qualitative or quantitative assessment and/or evaluation report
  • Develop a research focus in social science and public policy
  • Become expert in methodologies pertaining to surveys, opinion studies, and political phenomena
