Law - Master's Year 1

Program Objectives

Students in the first year of the Master’s degree in Law take one of two majors: Corporate Law and Taxation - which are offered as initial training programs, and Public law - Public governance and economic regulation - which is offered as a work-study program. Students specialize over the course of the year in preparation for the second year of the Master’s program, in which they select an academic track.

A "Research" track is open in the two majors with the possibility of continuing in the 2nd year of the master.

Program objectives:

  • Benefit from an interdisciplinary law program integrating management and economics, taught in large part by professionals
  • Be exposed to various perspectives from the full range of legal professions via the large number of specialized tracks available in the second year
  • Be open to international opportunities

Major in CORPORATE LAW AND TAXATION
The goal of the major is to train high-caliber legal professionals wishing to pursue a legal or judicial career and offers students an introduction to research while requiring them to conduct research. Students gain theoretical and practical knowledge in all areas of public and private corporate law and taxation, as well as the extra-disciplinary knowledge and abilities necessary to their future careers.

The international dimension of the program is enhanced by the fact that some courses are taught in English and students are educated in the international aspects of the legal profession.
The second year of the major in Corporate Law and Taxation consists of eight courses. Students may opt to take a gap year before continuing their studies in the second year.
Students are encouraged to get involved in the university’s many associations and its strong alumni network.
