L'AMGD
AMGD, the association for students in the Magistère in Management Sciences, exists in order to provide extra-curricular activities for program students and program alumni.
The Magistère Conference
The Dauphine AMGD organizes an annual conference on a theme chosen by the students and faculty related to curricular themes and current events.
The conference is a major event for the program; registration is free and open to all (members of the Dauphine community and others) and is an occasion to hear big name industry professionals talk about their work and debate current issues.
After themes such as “Young People and Politics: A Troubled Relationship?” and “The Financial Networks of Terrorism,” program students decided to hold the 2019 conference on the theme “Digital Business: Towards a Modification of the Corporate Purpose.”
The Study Trip
Every year, students in the first year of the Magistère in Management Sciences have an entire week free of classes.
The week is spent on a study trip, the purpose and location of which is chosen by a group of students at the start of the year. The group has to plan the entire trip. That means organizing cultural visits, company tours, accommodations, and the schedule (with the agreement and assistance of the program directors). The trip is designed to enrich students’ global understanding, to help them get to know a new culture, and to give them the opportunity to spend some quality time together with the goal of making them feel a sense of group belonging.
After trips to Copenhagen, Malaga, and Rome, this year’s students are going to Budapest and Vienne. These destinations are interesting both because of the wealth of cultural experiences on offer and because they are attractive locations for corporations in a number of sectors.
Magistère Challenge: The Magisterium
The Magisterium is an annual inter-Magistère national challenge that brings together students from France’s different magistère programs. 2020 was the first year that the Magistère in Management Science was invited to participate in the Magisterium, which was to be held the weekend of March 20-22, 2020 in Aix-en-Provence. It’s an annual meeting for all French Magistère programs that provides students with the opportunity to come together and enjoy a range of social events such as public speaking competitions, cultural activities, and sporting competitions over the course of a weekend.
