Management and Organization: Master's Year 1

Program Objectives

The first year of the Master's in Management and Organizations trains management professionals with a wide range of skills who are able to take a holistic, big-picture view of organizations and who think globally. The program aims to teach students to manage the complexity, ambiguity, and uncertainty in management roles, to develop a critical stance to management, and to acquire professional knowledge and social skills. Students choose one of eight specialized tracks in the second year. It prepares students for a wide variety of roles such as project manager, consultant, program or service manager, expert, entrepreneur, or researcher, and offers excellent job placement opportunities immediately after graduation.

Program objectives:

  • Develop cross-disciplinary skills in management.
  • Take a holistic, big-picture view of organizations.
  • Know how to manage complexity, ambiguity, and uncertainty.
  • Develop critical thinking and analytical skills and encourage open-mindedness and curiosity.
  • Narrow in on a desired career.
  • Become a professional (in terms of knowledge, social skills, posture, and attitude, and in understanding the concrete issues at stake in the professional world).
