Preparation for the Administrative Competitions
Preparation for Administrative Competitions , which includes the 2nd year program in Public Careers and Civil-Service Entrance Exams, is open to anyone who has completed the first year of a Master's program (in social sciences, economics, law, management, etc.) or received a diploma from an IEP (Institute of Political Studies) or Grande École in business.
The program provides an education in the material (general knowledge, law, economics, QS, QE, QI, public finance, etc.) covered in the A+ and A civil service exams.
It prepares students for the unique methodological aspects of this kind of examination (which consist of essays, briefing notes, analytical papers, multiple-choice questions, and tests of proficiency of modern languages in a professional context).
The program offers a wide range of seminars and regular practice exams (practice sessions, coaching, etc.) adapted to the needs of each student. It also trains students for various oral examination scenarios (how to introduce themselves and their motivations, professional roleplaying scenarios, individual conversations, group oral exams, etc.).
The program culminates in the exams for various administrative bodies within the three branches of the French civil service:
- The State (central and decentralized)
- Local government
- Public hospitals
This is a year-long program (September to May). The program aims to complement students' prior educational experiences, teach them how to approach each of the various exams and understand their rules of engagement, and help them acquire useful skills for exam day.
In certain cases, students in the preparatory program can also obtain the second-year Master’s degree in Public Careers and Civil-Service Entrance Exams.
Registration for the Master’s Year 2 program in Public Service Careers and National Exams takes place the September after the Preparation program begins. In fact, the Public Service Careers and National Exams Master’s program is only open to students in the Preparation program.
